A methodology says how figures should be produced; it does not show that they are right. So every build measures the site against an independent reference and publishes the result here, good or bad. Updated 28 October 2026.
In this build, 97 of the 100 largest cryptocurrencies had a live price from the exchanges CoinSpectrum reads directly. Against the aggregator reference, the median gap was 0.3%; 81 were within 1% and 97 within 5%.
The price shown for a coin is the median of the exchanges' own public price feeds — 24 exchanges answered in the last cycle — refreshed every minute. The reference is the price CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap or CoinPaprika reported in the six-hourly build. The two are taken up to six hours apart, so part of every gap is the market moving, not an error.

A live price more than four times above or below the reference is refused outright and the reference is shown instead, so a namesake ticker on a small exchange cannot replace a real price.

A coin is never classified by guesswork: until its consensus is checked against its own documentation or source code it is labelled as awaiting review. The methodology sets out every rule and market data lists every source. Errors can be reported through the listing form or on X and Telegram.
