Cryptocurrencies that pay their developers after launch

A developer share is the part of new issuance that goes to developers, a company, a foundation or a treasury instead of to the miners or validators who produce blocks. It is also called a dev tax, a founders' reward or a dev fund. It differs from a premine: a premine is allocated before anyone else can take part, while a developer share is paid out block by block after launch. The CoinSpectrum Grade scores the two separately.

The largest coins that pay a developer share are Zcash (20% of supply so far, 20% of new coins today), Cardano (6.2% of supply so far, 38% of new coins today), NEAR Protocol (2.4% of supply so far, 10% of new coins today), Canton (0.9% of supply so far, 5% of new coins today), Bittensor (5.7% of supply so far, 18% of new coins today). Bitcoin, Litecoin, Monero and Kaspa pay nobody but their miners.

Received so far is the developer share as a percent of today's supply. Rate today is the percent of each new block reward or issuance round that goes to developers, a foundation or a treasury now. A treasury spent by holder or masternode vote counts too: the coins still do not go to the people securing the chain. Of the 280 coins researched so far, 80 have a developer share and 197 have none. How the grade scores it.

Questions

What is a developer share or dev tax in crypto?

A rule that sends part of every new block reward or issuance round to developers, a company, a foundation or a treasury rather than to the miners or validators who produce the blocks. Zcash sends 20% of each block reward this way; Bitcoin sends nothing.

Is a developer share the same as a premine?

No. A premine is allocated at or before launch, before anyone else can mine or stake. A developer share is paid after launch, block by block, alongside the miners. The CoinSpectrum Grade scores them as two separate criteria.

Which cryptocurrencies have a developer share?

Among the researched coins: Secret, Hippo Protocol, Osmosis, Bityuan, Zcash, PIVX, Firo, Kaia.

Why does a developer share lower the grade?

Coins that go to insiders without the cost of mining or staking can be sold at no cost to the holder. The larger that share, the more supply is held by a few parties who can sell it, and the more the project depends on them.
